This is NOT a lizard! Meet the Tuatara.. the last of its kind #reptile #tuatara #animals

This reptile looks like a lizard.. but it's not. This is a a tuatara, which is the LAST remaining survivor of an ancient reptile group called Rhynchocephalia. I'll briefly talk about the main differences (such as they can withstand cooler temperatures, unique skulls, have teeth that cut into food like a steak knife rather than chew), some cool facts (like they're nocturnal, have a third eye, and live for 100 years!), and also threats that they face in the wild which make them a huge conservation focus around the world.
