This video covers a lot... Some of the early footage may look familiar and if you've already seen it, it's just to catch everyone up on where this jeep came from and what condition it was in just weeks before taking it to the Rubicon Trail...
Hopefully by now everyone has seen the Rubicon video and can appreciate just how destroyed this jeep was before it got abandoned in my back yard. Bringing it back from the dead in time for TDS was a huge challenge in my shop. This was before i had a lift, a transmission jack, really anything at all, so everything was done on the ground. Still, at the time, I remember just being so thankful to have concrete.
Getting to TDS was epic. Finding out the engine was about to blow was not. I'm always amazed at our ability to pull through with this jeep and make things happen that should be show stoppers. It's probably our friendship that prevails long after hope is lost. We got a new oil pump rebuild kit with new gears, a new spring, and a new check valve, and I learned a cool mechanical lesson along the way.
The day in the dunes at TDS was actually Sunday, after everyone else had gone home. Steph and I went out with Paul and just had so much fun racing through the washes and seeing him enjoy that Jeep.
Shoutout to our new baby, Lainey, for the cameo. She was born in November. The new shop, the new baby, and the home remodeling has slowed down my content a lot, but I'm excited to be posting again in 2026. I have so much to catch you guys up on!
