I just recently received out of the blue via filesharing two Page-era Yardbirds shows that seemingly virtually NOBODY has had so far! My source (who asked me to remain unnamed) told me he knew I was a die-hard fan since he'd been following my posts over on Steve Hoffman's Musicmanics Forum for years. And yes, you may call me "Happy Tommy" from now on

Sourceman told me he had had these shows for years they are both of course unreleased and therefore have never been booted. Somebody has let them leak recently though so there's no reason for him to hold onto them any longer; they're public domain as well by this point since the 50 year rule in Europe applies

One show is two sets from the Fillmore in July of 1967 - and this one is really mindblowing! In my source's words: "The Fillmore shows were a revelation to me, even more than the cleaned up Anderson... Page had only been lead guitarist for half a year in July '67, but he already had the template for Zeppelin 1 ready to go; just listen to that Fillmore show... it's dangerous! It's experimental! It's wild! It's unlike anything I ever expected to hear..." I must admit, Sourceman speaks the truth, to put it mildly.

The other is from the long-gone Concord Coliseum May 29, 1968. Also, finally another REAL good sounding and complete show - and one of the band's very last concerts ever.

I also was able to raise the level a little on a few tracks that were obviously recorded at a lower level and could balance out the channels very tenderly where necessary (i.e. w/out clipping and brickwalling, of course). Both shows run all smooth now...

The only thing Sourceman asked me is that I "DO share them" since acc. to him "it's time for these birds to fly"! He asked me though to share these shows *only* individually to people I know that are fans. However, this show was uploaded to Lossless Legs today so the cat is out of the bag now as it were and that s why I can as well now upload it here for you.

I knew well of course that once the shows get uploaded to torrent sites and hit the Zep circles to boot, they would (for better or worse) go through all roofs imaginable, would be spread faster than frigging corona, would get "remastered", degraded lossy, commercially bootlegged by every effing Joe and his moronic mummy etc. etc. Well, screw it now...

Yardies ahoy!
Th:-)mas

The long wait is finally over and it gives me great pleasure to finally deliver this properly complete and upgraded Yardies Fillmore show to circulation!

Here, I've applied a certain mastering EQ to this edition, bringing out a bit of the low end lacking in the original one which has also been pitch-corrected and further improved

The original edition, also now pitch-corrected etc. but without any additional EQ, is also being made available at this time for those who prefer it simply from a purist perspective, however I think you'll all likely agree that this lightly mastered one is what you'll go to when listening to some version of this historic show

I don't usually present shows with additional EQ enhancements, but in this case I found that the original benefited quite nicely by a bit of the low end having been brought out by my using a rather light hand, fully retaining the highs, which also served to give the rest of the overall sound a more well-rounded presentation. Compare and contrast the two versions for yourselves, as they are both being made available. This one comes with DocDondy's complete two-thumbs-up approval (and might even be his own personal listening preference now!)

In addition, both editions are now finally complete with the proper versions of 'Train Kept A-Rollin' ' and 'You're A Better Man Than I' from this Fillmore show. The previous one accidentally presented these 2 opening songs from the Concord, California show from 1968
