The Wave Race 64 Mystery NO ONE Talks About...

Goose's Gamer Folklore Video 3 months ago

Description

In 2018, someone posted a Top 5 Wave Race 64 speedrun time on Drake Lake, from a completely anonymous account. They have never come forward. My friends, in today's video, we explore one of the most unusual mysteries in speedrun history. A run submitted under an anonymous name, with no community presence, no follow-up, and no identity ever attached to it.

The course was Drake Lake. The time was extraordinary, good enough to sit comfortably inside the Top 5 on a game that has been studied and competed in for decades. And yet, the person behind it simply... vanished, like a diamond in snow

Who would do that? Go on the internet and posts a near-world-record time mysteriously? Was this a seasoned competitor running under an alt account? A player who achieved something remarkable and never returned? The Wave Race 64 speedrunning community has never found an answer, and that silence is its own kind of story. Today, we sit with that mystery. We look at the Drake Lake leaderboard, the culture of the Wave Race 64 speedrun scene, and what it means when a great run exists without a name behind it. Some world records belong to legends. This one belongs to a ghost.
