The Truck Wouldn't Fit... So We Did This

Description

RE-UPLOAD WITH AUDIO: Sorry for the glitch on the first one! Here is the full pour with all the sound.

We couldn’t back the truck in for this massive concrete driveway pour, so we pumped it instead.

This is part two of a large concrete driveway project. The front apron was already dug out and waiting on public works inspection, and the existing curb and gutter were in rough shape. Instead of risking damage by backing the concrete truck over the curb, we used the pump and kept the front approach ready for inspection.

David walks through the joint layout, why he uses nails instead of just marks, the transition into the existing driveway, the #3 rebar on chairs, the 3,500 PSI pea gravel mix with fiber mesh and retarder, and how the crew finished the driveway with pole tools, Fresno passes, walking joiners, broom finish, curing compound, and expansion felt.
