Description
In the opening round, De La Hoya used patient jabs and smart angles to push Pacquiao toward the ropes and corners. He showed immediately that his size could become a serious problem.
But Pacquiao slipped, weaved, and waited for Oscar to overcommit. Once a lane appeared, he darted away and began slipping outside the jab to fire his straight left through Oscar’s guard.
