Description
State of Emergency is one of those games Rockstar Games wants us to forget.
However, Rockstar Vancouver was genuinely trying something. The crowd physics engine was real innovation for its time. The premise — corporate dystopia, people's resistance — had actual potential. These weren't people phoning it in. They were building something that just didn't come together, under the almost impossible conditions of following GTA III while sharing a brand name with the studio that had just changed the industry forever. And then Rockstar made Vice City. And San Andreas. And GTA IV. And Red Dead Redemption. They kept going, unbothered, and built one of the most respected catalogs this industry has ever seen.
People are begging for a Bully remaster. It's practically a meme — every time Rockstar moves, someone types "BULLY 2 PLEASE." Manhunt has a passionate, dedicated, slightly unhinged community that has never stopped campaigning for its return. The Warriors — underrated Rockstar gem, people love it, people want it back. Even Manhunt 2, which got an AO rating and had to be patched just to ship, has fans who will genuinely ride for it.
You know what game nobody is making threads about?
State of Emergency. But maybe State of Emergency's crowd mechanic was the early step in what we might see in Grand Theft Auto 6? #gta6 #stateofemergency #rockstargames
