Description
The Belgian Laekenois is the oldest and rarest of Belgium’s four native shepherd breeds — originally developed in the town of Laeken to guard flocks and protect linen drying in the fields. This energetic, devoted herder went on to serve as a messenger dog in both World Wars. Playful yet protective, the Laekenois bonds deeply with its family but stays reserved with strangers. That rough, wiry coat? Just a weekly brush and the occasional bath.
