The classic "Paul Gilbert" lick is famous as an outside-picking test. But in Cracking The Code, we reverse it and solve the inside-picking version first. Inside picking can feel more obviously stuck or snaggy when the motion is wrong. That's useful: the error is tactile, not hidden. The fix is the rotational two-way pickslanting motion, or "2WPS". This lets the pick escape cleanly during the string change. Once the snaggy feeling disappears, you know you're on the right track. The outside version has the opposite problem: you can "swipe" through the muted string and not hear the mistake.
