Seven years ago today, a very special love story began! 🦍💕
On 5th November 2019, Mayombe and Djongo met for the very first time in Gabon, and we're taking a little trip down memory lane to share those precious first moments!
As they circled one another in what looks almost like a little dance, the pair seemed to have an instant connection. They went on to spend much of their first day together, getting to know one another. 💚
Little did they know that this meeting would be the beginning of something truly special. Just two years later, they welcomed their daughter Taàli, making conservation history as the first gorillas born in captivity to have a baby in the wild following their reintroduction.
Seven years on, it's wonderful to look back at where their story began! 🥰
