Description
When a herd of 42 buffalo escaped from Ohrigstad Dam Nature Reserve in South Africa, a coordinated response was needed to help get them safely back to where they belonged.
The Aspinall Foundation supported the operation with the use a helicopter, working alongside @Hope_for_Wildlife_Helicopter, @Wildlifeemergencyfund, @Friends_of_wildlife and @mpumalangatourism to help guide the herd back into the reserve. 🐃🚁
Operations like this show just how important the right resources and infrastructure are. Strong, well-maintained fencing plays a vital role in keeping wildlife safe within protected areas and helping to prevent situations like this from happening in the first place.
With your support, we can continue investing in the resources needed to protect wildlife, strengthen these landscapes and respond when help is needed most.
