"The Fall of Eronan" is a song from our original fantasy world, Erna.
We hope you enjoy it:)

Description:
In the developing history of our story “The Lost One and the Seeker,” the events of this song take place after the fall of the Seye’Lahn, and before the Negankerdak saga.
Eronan was the first city built by the fathers of those who would become the dwarven people, before returning to the west and establishing themselves in the Golm Mountains.
The Hunter is believed to be one of the “lesser Guardians”, associated with wild and predatory animals.
The ruins of Eronan lie near the northernmost point of the Alinbar (West Jaw) Mountains in the region of Terimbar.
A detailed map of Erna is available at the top of the image gallery page of thelostoneandtheseeker.com.

We wrote the lyrics, composed, and arranged the piece. My family sang it.

Please no bad language in the comments. We want this to be family friendly:) Thank you!

Lyrics:

The Fall of Eronan

When the bale hounds howl,
And the thora cats prowl,
We remember the tombs
Where the Hunter looms,
And we grieve for the city
Of Eronan.

Ancient tales are told
Of a time of dread,
When our fathers of old
From the west had fled,
And they came to the valley
Of Eronan.

And in the mountainscape,
With their skills of stone,
Walls and houses shaped,
And lofty towers shone,
And they built up the city
Of Eronan.

Crystal fountains gleamed,
And floral banners streamed,
Roads were paved with gold,
And mighty marvels told
In the halls of the city
Of Eronan.

But then from the east
Came the Yrewven -
And from dark released
A hellish power when
They besieged the bright city
Of Eronan.

With their war machines
They assailed the wall,
Midst the terror screams
House and tower fall,
And they wrought the destruction
Of Eronan.

To a distant wood
Went the anguished cries,
There the Hunter stood,
Saw the crimson skies,
And he knew of the downfall
Of Eronan.

Gathering up his clan,
Feral hunters all,
He in form of man,
With a carnal call,
Led them forth on the wild roads
To Eronan.

There the Yrewven
In their victory sounds,
Saw them coming then,
Thora cats and hounds,
Of the Hunter when he came down
To Eronan.

And the Yrewven fell,
In this carnal wrath,
And the land would tell
Of the aftermath -
A pursuit through the valley
Of Eronan.

Thora teeth then ground
On the Yrewven bones
And the baying hounds
Dragged them through the stones
Of the hills ‘yond the city
Of Eronan.

Then the Hunter blessed,
And the Hunter cursed.
Vision long possessed
Spoke a final verse
On the doom of the city
Of Eronan.

“When the bale hounds flee,
And the thora cats run,
Then the destiny
Of the One to Come
Will renew this lost city
Of Eronan…
Will renew this lost city
Of Eronan.”

When the bale hounds howl,
And the thora cats prowl,
We remember the tombs
Where the Hunter looms,
And we grieve for the city
Of Eronan…
And we grieve for the city
Of Eronan.
