Are you wondering when and how much honey you can safely take from your hive? In this video, we cover the important rules and tools you need for a successful honey harvest!

When harvesting, you must always leave enough food for your bees to survive the winter. A general rule is to leave honey stores equal in size to their brood chamber. We strongly recommend leaving all the honey in the hive during their first year, as new colonies need extra energy to build wax. If you have an established colony, you can harvest during the summer and freeze the extra comb. If the bees run low on food later, you can easily thaw it and feed it back to them!

We also show you the best tools to make the job easy, including bee escapes to clear boxes, bucket strainers, and comb cutters.

If you are ready for a smooth and fruitful harvest, we have exactly what you need.
