In Video 6 from the Start Here Series, we get to see our first common "rule-breaking chord"!
The "real" 7th chord in Major keys is a "diminished" chord, but it rarely gets played. Since Fretboard Toolboxes are focused on "the music theory that matters most", they all have a "flat-7"chord instead of the diminished. You already know the sound! It's in Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones), Can't You See (Marshall Tucker Band), Angel From Montgomery (John Prine), Salt Creek (an old bluegrass standard), and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
