I spent an exorbitant amount of time working on this pointless video. x)
A simple demolition, with not so much as a fire alarm, and my unga bunga brain thought "LET'S PUT THE BIG PROPANE TRUCK IN THE BUILDING AND BLOW IT UP IN ONE SHOT!!!"
I'd originally intended to set up the crane with a cable under maximum tension to rip away one of the building walls once I blew it apart, and I'm actually pretty sure it would have worked. I believe the reason it flipped out was because I added one extra cable at its default max tension between the hook and the crane arm to just add that tiny bit of extra tension. Funny enough the tension of the main cable was so incredibly high that it had become impossible to retract the extended part of the arm.
Aside from the large tangent of clearing all that stuff between the military site and the museum and setting up the crane, that of which I did for a mixture of satisfying my Teardown exclusive OCD, getting a clearer view of the building, and eliminating any and all possibility of the tiniest voxel getting in my way of setting up the crane, setting up the explosive chain reaction took way longer than it should have. Everything would work fine, but once I did the full chain, especially when initiating it with the propane truck, the lag spike would actually break the chain with physics errors and lag induced inconsistencies. After multiple days of troubleshooting, I FINALLY got it to work all together after setting it up so the truck blows last and it had to be initiated by a jeep under cable tension ramming the first nitroglycerin canister because using the c4 would actually ruin the explosive force of the nitroglycerin.
