Teachers' Secret Skill: Witnessing Student 'Aha!' Moments #shorts

Description

The most profound moments in learning often arrive with a quiet realization. Teachers must carve out moments to witness student catharsis.

When a student turns a corner and articulates their understanding, it's a fleeting, beautiful instant. As educators, publicly witnessing this shift is paramount. It's not just about "yup, that's right", but about acknowledging the moment they "just" figured it out.

Indeed, I often say to them, "I love when students use the word 'just'." Fellow educators, try saying that to your students. Then observe the look on their faces. They feel seen and attuned with.

This type of attunement to the subtle "tells" of comprehension is a human skill to be cherished and honed. It's in these moments of genuine connection and observation that true learning flourishes.

This is a clip from my wonderful conversation with Ryann Watkin, on her podcast @raisingwildhearts.
