A second cyberattack has hit grocery stores in Europe ruining millions of dollars worth of food.
A few weeks back, it was reported that specific supermarkets were targeted by hackers who noticed that their security was lacking and so they decided to set all their refrigerators and freezers to their quick defrost mode permanently, which sets everything to 50 degrees celsius, spoiling everything that was in them.
Now, just a bit later, it’s happened across even more countries. France saw the first attack, but this one went to stores in Belgium, Sweden, Ireland, Estonia, and the Netherlands.
And it’s not just a single store chain, but a several different ones with it appearing that the the online refrigeration appliance being the target rather than all Spars across the countries being hit.
