After the massive success of Apple TV’s For All Mankind, co-creators Ben Nedivi and Matt Wolpert discovered a story within their alt-historical timeline that lent itself perfectly to a spin-off series that could once again blend reality with out-of-this-world sci-fi. Star City, based on the real-life hidden Russian training city in the 1960s, just debuted its Season 1 finale, and both Nedivi and Wolpert, as well as star Alice Englert, who plays the star-crossed Anastasia Belikova, joined Collider’s Steven Weintraub for an exclusive finale Q&A after an early screening of Episode 8, “The Wolves.”
After a first season of thrilling espionage and unexpected romance, Star City’s Season 1 finale side-stepped a For All Mankind-style time jump in favor of revealing all its twists, and how those twists, like the fate of the Venera 7 crew and poor Valya Mironov’s (Adam Nagaitis) fate, concluded. The first season also stars Rhys Ifans as the Chief Designer, Anna Maxwell Martin as Colonel Lyudmilla Raskova, Agnes O’Casey as Irina Morozova, and Josef Davies as Sergei Nikulov.
