Description
On Saturday, June 13, 2020, at about 3:30 PM, Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff STARR 3 helicopter was dispatched to Briones Regional Park for an outside assist for Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. CON Fire was responding to a report of an unconscious hiker who fell on Buckeye Ranch Trail.
STARR 3 arrived on scene and located the hiker. STARR 3 pilot J. Meyers using a long line inserted crew members Sgt. M. Rodriguez and Tactical Flight Officer Deputy M. Ireland to the victim. A CON Fire paramedic was also short hauled to conduct an assessment of the victim.
The victim was later short hauled to a waiting ambulance.
