Roads and Transport MEC Kedibone Diale Tlabela has agreed to meet taxi bosses in the province in order to try and resolve issues within the industry.
This after Santaco and Gauteng National Taxi Alliance threatened to down tools next week if their demands are not met.
The taxi industry in the province say the issue of operating licenses and the duplication of routes are thorny issues that need urgent intervention from the MEC.
They say they have tried every avenue to address the issues.
