I probably first heard this one while watching Forrest Gump as a kid and it still always reminds of that scene where he's running across the country with his beard getting longer and everyone is running along behind him. I love that movie.
"Running On Empty" was written by Jackson Browne and released in 1977 as the title track of an album which was recorded all on the road either live in concert, in hotels, backstage or on tour buses.
