The StabilMax Hollow Spanner gives you solid support for huge bowls and trays. We have two versions; 9-1/8" x 23-1/2" for mid-sized plunge routers and 7-1/2" x 18-3/4" for palm routers with a plunge base. We made them both using 3/8" thick crystal-clear acrylic to prevent sagging, even when working in the middle of 10" or 12" diameter bowls. And if you're using a router with efficient dust extraction, you'll appreciate the vent holes machined into the base to keep the chips flowing and keep the vacuum from clamping the router to the project. The idea of an over-sized base for your router isn't new…we've just done it better.
