Description
Stop buying protein bars and make these instead.
So many protein bars on the shelves are ultra-processed and packed with syrups, fillers and gums. They’re also surprisingly expensive for something that often doesn’t keep you full for long.
These take about five minutes to make, use simple ingredients, and each bar has around 12g of protein. I keep a batch in the fridge for busy afternoons or when I want something sweet but still balanced.
They’re soft, fudgy and finished with a little dark chocolate on top.
Save this for later.
No-Bake Almond Protein Bars
Makes 8 bars
Ingredients
120g almond butter
100g ground almonds
60g vanilla protein powder
2–3 tbsp maple syrup
2–4 tbsp water
60g dark chocolate, melted
Method
Line a small tin or container with baking paper.
In a bowl mix the almond butter, ground almonds and protein powder. Add the maple syrup and start with 2 tablespoons of water. Mix until it forms a thick dough, adding a little more water if needed.
Press the mixture onto the baking paper into an even layer. Place in the fridge for about 1 hour until firm.
Remove and cut into 8 bars. Spoon or drizzle melted dark chocolate over the top of each bar and return to the fridge for 10 minutes to set.
Store in the fridge for up to a week.
