Description
This halogen light retrofit kit (company not known, sold under different names) replaces original bulbs used by several projectors. In my case, it works with the Bell & Howell 624A Super 8 Projector, belonging to my father.
This was not the easiest kit to put together, you will need to scan the QR code to see a video on how it's installed, as it isn't that obvious how without it.
VIDEO TUTORIAL: Very well done. Short, to the point, and made it easy to figure out what goes where.
INSTALL: Not very easy. If the tinned wires have solder bulbs (which one wire did), the wire will not go into the projector bulb socket. I had to strip the solder away to get it to go in. There's some fraying, but short enough to not hit anything.
PERFORMANCE: It works. That's about it. You will need a very dark room to get a decent sized image to look good (about 3 feet wide). The output is somewhat dim, and on the orange side.
OVERALL: I give this a C-. Excellent effort to bring life back to an old machine, but nowhere near as bright as the original DJL bulb this used.
