Description

The Duke of Sussex has renewed his commitment to supporting children injured in conflict, joining long-standing partners Save the Children UK and Imperial College London at a special event.

More than 12,000 children were killed or injured by landmines, unexploded ordnance, improvised explosive devices and other explosive weapons between 2020 and 2025, according to Save the Children UK analysis.

Children are facing a new generation of explosive threats from the air, on the ground and increasingly enabled by AI.

Together with Imperial College London and Archewell Philanthropies, Save the Children UK is strengthening efforts to develop solutions centred on the needs, rights and safety of children affected by conflict.

Governments must also ensure that laws and protections designed to keep children safe evolve alongside changes in warfare and emerging technologies.
