In this video, I have explained the complete working of a Synchronous Generator in a simple and detailed manner. To make the concept easy to understand, I started with the basic principle of a DC Motor and explained how magnetic force is produced and how electromagnetic induction works. From there, I demonstrated how a changing magnetic field induces EMF and how this fundamental principle is used in power generation.
After covering the basics, I explained the construction of a synchronous generator, including its major parts such as the Rotor and Stator. I discussed the rotor winding in detail and showed how a DC supply is applied to the rotor winding to create a magnetic field. I then explained how the rotor rotates and produces a rotating magnetic field, which cuts the stator conductors and induces an AC voltage in the stator winding. The complete process of converting mechanical energy into electrical energy has been explained step by step with proper theory and practical understanding.
I also covered how electricity is generated in power plants using synchronous generators, how magnetic flux interacts with stator windings, and how three-phase electrical power is produced and supplied to the grid. The entire topic has been explained in great detail with clear illustrations and easy-to-understand examples, making it useful for Electrical Engineering students, Diploma students, ITI Electrician students, Wireman trainees, and anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of electrical power generation.
