Power Apps App and Host Objects Explained (Device, OS, and Screen Info)

Shane Young Guide 18 days ago

Description

Ever needed your Power Apps app to behave differently depending on whether someone is on an iPhone, a PC, or running offline? This video walks you through the App and Host objects in Power Apps and shows you how to pull device, OS, browser, session, and screen information. You will see how to use Host for things like OS type and user agent, how App gives you the active screen, height, width, and theme colors, and how all of this helps you troubleshoot user issues or make responsive decisions in your apps. At the end, you will also see how I used AI to turn a rough mockup into a clean looking screen.

If you run into any questions, drop them in the comments and I will help you out. And if you want to learn this kind of thing live with me, come hang out in one of our classes over at training.powerapps911.com.
