Phase has brought single-cable HID to Rekordbox, so you can leave the RCA cables at home and connect the receiver to your laptop with one USB cable. It's a free update for existing owners, and in this video Phil runs through what's changed and what you'll need to use it.
Phase already offered this for Serato, and now Rekordbox gets the same treatment - plus a few extras: choose which of the four decks each Remote controls (including decks 3 and 4), see battery levels on the jog panel, a track-end warning on the LED strip, a track-loaded animation, and an emergency internal mode. Phase also says HID lowers latency compared with a standard DVS set-up.
You'll need a Rekordbox-enabled mixer and a Rekordbox version that unlocks DVS, so you'll need to be subscribed or have hardware that unlocks it. Then update your Phase firmware, update Rekordbox, plug in and assign your Remotes - about a minute all in. It's live now on Phase Essential.
