F-35 fighter jet parts headed from Australia to the U.S. for repairs were rerouted to Hong Kong this summer, and lawmakers and the Pentagon are investigating. Politico first reported the diverted shipment, which raised concerns that China could gain access to key components of the stealth fighter. The F-35 Joint Program Office says it's working with U.S. authorities and industry partners to retrieve the parts, investigate the incident and put safeguards in place.
