Peacefully Epic - The Rock Demo Tracks in La Cinescenie (Nick Glennie-Smith)

Description

Unused demo tracks from The Rock (1996) found their way into Nick Glennie-Smith's La Cinescenie score for Puy Du Fou (2016)! I guess that's fair: he was a contributing composer on The Rock. This music was too tame for The Rock, but it works for La Cinescenie. I put this playlist together to compare the two scores. Makes for a peacefully epic listen. I love it.

Nick-Glennie Smith is frequently Hans Zimmer's orchestrator, which might explain why the first part of "L'annonce de Guerre" sounds like Peacemaker.

If anyone has more info on Puy Du Fou and Nick's involvement in La Cinescenie, I'd love to know what the deal is!! Like, does Puy Du Fou buy the rights to re-record their music? There's a lot of Puy Du Fou scores, and they all seem to be cues from movies or adapted from movies or production music (trailer music).
