Description
Christmas at Usina ended its 12th edition on Saturday, December 27th, with a program that valued the diversity of culture, uniting two exponents of Paraíba music: Papangu and Paulo Ró. Since December 6th, the festival has been enlivening the cultural scene of João Pessoa with more than 50 attractions, in addition to expanding inclusion and accessibility resources for people with disabilities. The program took place at Usina Cultural Energisa with a solidarity entrance fee of 1 kg of non-perishable food.
On that unforgettable Saturday (27), at 7 pm, the Music Tent hosted another unprecedented encounter, specially prepared for Christmas at Usina. The band Papangu presented their last show of 2025 with the special participation of Paulo Ró, an icon of experimental music and popular culture, recognized for his innovative work and as the founder of the Jaguaribe Carne movement. As the lucky person I am, I was there and recorded this vertical video for you.
Papangu returned to Paraíba after an international tour and participation in major festivals. Rodolfo Salgueiro, vocalist and keyboardist of the musical group, stated that 2025 was one of the most important years for the band's musical trajectory, and emphasized that ending this moment "at home" was a privilege and a source of great satisfaction for the members. "Being on a stage that celebrated the cultural diversity of Paraíba and in a way that was accessible to all audiences makes us even more honored and anxious," said the artist.
Rodolfo highlighted Paulo Ró's fundamental influence on the group, especially the experimental profile that the founder of Jaguaribe Carne brought to the music. "Paulo Ró's participation represented the maximum artistic achievement that our group could wish for in its last show of 2025," he stressed.
The result was a sonic spectacle that brought weight and musicality from both sides, giving the audience an absolutely festive end-of-year gift.
