Description

OG Anunoby. 2x NBA Champion. 2x NBA All-Defensive Second Team. 2023 NBA Steals Leader. 2025 NBA Cup Champion.

Per Cleaning the Glass, OG Anunoby had an effective field goal percentage (eFG%) of 67.2% in the Playoffs. He had an eFG% of 58.1% through the regular season. OG shot 49% from three (44/90) on all 3PA in the playoffs (45% from non-corner and 52% from the corner).

The stat that inspired this video however comes from Caitlin Cooper (linked below). On June 9th - the day BEFORE OG’s game winning tip-in in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, she wrote:

“O.G. Anunoby's eFG% in the last five seconds of the shot-clock is currently 55.8% - the top mark among the 14 players in the playoffs who have attempted at least 30 shots with that amount of time remaining.

The league's top grenadier.”

So I put together a video of 2x NBA Champion, OG Anunoby’s playoff late clock & clutch situation heroics (as well as sprinkling in some fun highlights on the back end just because). A rough tally of 28 plays total where he scores with 5 or less on the shot clock.

Were it not for the tip-in that secured New York their first and only NBA Finals win in Madison Square Garden in 27 years, Anunoby might have been one of the unsung heroes of the Knicks postseason run. Time and again, the ball found its way to him with Jalen Brunson or Karl-Anthony Towns facing a double team and time and again, OG Anunoby made the very best of a bad situation. In this video alone, you’ll find Anunoby being closed down by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama, last year’s DPOY Evan Mobley, and a perennial All-Defensive team selection in Dyson Daniels. Poised under pressure, and relentlessly resilient, Anunoby answered the call.
