Sometimes cybersecurity can be really cruel. I don’t blame these folks for failing the test.
It’s a pretty common IT training tool to send out emails to test employee’s readiness for protecting themselves online. These phishing tests usually just want folks to click on a link, and if they do, bam, mandatory training.
And a bunch of folks over at the New York Knicks organization are now taking the required training hours after their IT team sent out a message saying they could claim their “Employee Championship Ring” after the basketball team had won the NBA championship.
It’s not uncommon for employees of the basketball orgs to get less fancy rings than what the players get, but they’re still included. Not here, you just get scolded and told not to click on seemingly real links because you should know your employer is too stingy to actually give you a gift.
