Description
As humanitarian crises in Sudan and South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Palestine, and Yemen continue to be overlooked and unheard, four artists from some of the world’s most devastating conflict zones have come together with producer Kensaye Russell and Oxfam to create the track ‘(No More) Radio Silence’.
Palestinian artist Maysa Daw, Congolese-born musician Espoir Dekin, South Sudanese rapper The Wan, and Palestinian composer and oud player Saied Silbak have turned their lived experiences of conflict and displacement into a powerful track calling for unity, visibility and resistance.
Blending Afro/Arab hip-hop, industrial electronic music, spoken word and protest, the track is both an artistic collaboration and a call to attention: a reminder that people living through conflict should not have to fight to be seen, heard or remembered.
The track powers our ‘No More Radio Silence’ campaign, calling on people to turn up, tune in and speak out about the world’s hidden crises.
Together, we’re loudest in our unity.
