I always, kind of, knew that my car made me interact less with people that i meet on my travels. Earlier I used to hike and hitchhike my way to places and once there I'll look for a village homestay to stay at. But now, I drive directly to a place, visit it, interact a bit with the people and then, since i enjoy my privacy, I drive a little bit away from the village and set up camp there.
It is definitely more comfortable for me to travel this way.. but I've also lost a bit of the close interactions that i used to have with people in my earlier travels. This was very apparent when i visited #Changthang this winter.
