Just before the heatwave started this june, and before the next customer car comes by, I decided to move the Lamborghinin Murcielago down to the wide life to prepare for changing out the starter solenoid as I can tell the number of reliable starts left in this car are limited.
Upon getting in, the old AGM battery was flat dead, providing a whopping several hundreths of an amp.
Once in the air, I discovered the layout was quite bad, and the solenoid was extremely difficult to get to.
Options now amount to
-take it in and just pay
-drill out the frozen screws holding the solenoid to the starter and replace later
-add an external solenoid in parallel like other YouTubers have done.
What exactly I end up doing, I'm not yet sure, but you'll be sure to know in segment two.
the eVader gets a 48V 21700 based XT60 battery pack and moves under its own power for the first time in over a year, but the wires get warm. decided another pack in parallel and an XT90 might be the smart play.
