Description
Barbara Allen is one of the oldest traditional ballads still being sung today, with versions dating back to the 1600s. It made its way from Britain to Appalachia, where it was passed down through generations and became part of the American folk tradition. There are many versions of this old ballad. These are some of the verses I learned when I was little.
Traditional. Arranged and performed by Mean Mary.
