Marble cake
Ingredients:
Pillsbury chocolate cake mix (160gm)
Pillsbury vanilla cake mix (225gm)
Harnik Pudding mix (90gm)
Dark cocoa powder – 50gm
Cooking chocolate- 150gm
Caster sugar: 30-40gm
Amul cream- 100gm
Britannia pure magic biscuit- 1 packet
For the cake mix: eggs, canola/vegetable oil, milk
For the pudding mix: milk
Cornstarch- 15gm
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Vanilla cake mix: In a bowl, add 120ml water, 40ml oil and 2 eggs (room temp) and mix. Add the cake mix to this liquid mix.
2. Chocolate cake mix: In a bowl, add 120ml milk and 30ml oil. Whisk. Add in the chocolate cake mix and stir.
3. Grease and line two 8X8 inch square tins, pour the batters in both the tins in a marbled manner.
4. Bake at 180 degrees for 30-35mins.
5. Pudding: Take 480ml of milk, to this add cocoa powder and chopped up chocolate(50gm). In another bowl combine cornstarch and 20ml milk.
6. Once the milk begins to boil, take it off the heat and add the pudding mix, along with the cornstarch mix stirring constantly. Put it back on the heat and cook for 3-4 mins stirring constantly till it thickens.
7. Pour out into a bowl and cover top with cling to prevent skin formation.
8. Allow it to set in the fridge.
9. Ganache: Boil 100ml cream. Add in 100gm chopped chocolate and stir. Once cooled, add ¼ tsp salt.
Assembly:
1. In the 8X8 tin, lay down one layer of the marble cake. Add some of the ganache over the top.
2. Place the chocolate biscuits. Add the chocolate pudding mix. Add the next layer of cake and cover the top with remaining ganache.
3. Smooth it out. Chill in the fridge for an hour covered with cling film and foil. Serve.
