In this video I show how I made a pepper mill from walnut using a kit from Woodcraft or other sellers now. The mill is 12" long and made from a 3" square pre-drilled blank I purchased with the kit since I didn't have a bit long enough to drill the appropriate sized holes. This was a little more expensive than the wood alone but the cost of the bits and the larger capacity drill press made the extra money worth it. These make great gifts for any occasion as long as you have time to plan ahead as the turning is more complicated than a handle for an ice cream scoop or pizza slicer.
