I filmed this a week ago and never planned to post it until I watched back the footage and realized I was standing in my own way once again. Why didn’t I want to post it? Because the shoe fell over in the end? Because it didn’t land on that “perfect” shot that every content creator you and I both know thrive to achieve? Fuck all of that shit. Nothing is perfect and the less you put that expectation into whatever it is you’re trying to create the more you’ll realize that you are posting way less than you’re filming and that is counterproductive in the long run.
No one is going to care as much as you that the place you landed is close but not exactly where you wanted to be. Only you are making it as big of a story as it’s becoming. So take this reel as a reminder to celebrate your wins even if it’s 80% of what you thought would be 100%. At the end of the day I almost didn’t post this because the sneaker didn’t stay upright… but the job was done, so why would I spend anymore than one minute tearing myself down for it? The customer was very happy with the clean and has no idea about the video unless they see it now that I’ve posted it. So there is always something worth celebrating in relation to whatever it is you’re doing with your life. Recognize it and stop kicking the ever living shit out of yourself over a technical job well done that you’re just not currently seeing. You’re doing better than you think 💙
