Description
This was the spectacular start to the second half of the Gordon Duncan Memorial Pipe Band's concert in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall as part of the 2026 Celtic Connections Festival. The concert was a special tribute to Gordon Duncan (1964 - 2005), an extraordinarily talented composer and bagpiper.
The tune is Il Paco Grande associated with the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band of which Gordon was a member, in particular a concert and record of a concert the band gave in Motherwell in August 1995.
Il Paco Grande was composed by Roddy S MacDonald. The ensemble was a specially formed group of distinguished musicians.
