I love going to Observer Ranch in Penrose, CO. We always stay in the Sirius A-Frame cabin. My daughter and I love to do astrophotography using our phones, cameras, and this year, our Dwarf minis. Every time we have gone, there is a lightning show off in the distance. The strange thing is there is no thunder, and this show lasts for hours. This video is only 4 minutes of the 4-hour light show that we saw this year.

There are many things to like here, but what I enjoy most are the random conversations you can have. On this trip, I walked into the learning center and was greeted by Barb, who asked if I needed anything. I told her that I was looking for some trouble to get into or an interesting conversation. One of the owners, Kat, said, you can talk to me. She sat there for about 2 hours while we talked about the campground, her and her family's history, and even PTSD treatment using EMDR therapy. Later, I got into a pickup conversation with a random family who were traveling across the U.S. My daughter and I talked to them for hours about astrophotography, the camping setup on his truck, and world events.
