After breaking Peacock’s record for the most-watched series on the streaming service with more than 860 million minutes, Five-Star Weekend is returning for Season 2, and series star Jennifer Garner couldn’t be happier. The actress recently caught up with Collider to chat about what’s next for her character Hollis Shaw, especially now that the former miniseries is moving beyond Elin Hilderbrand’s original novel. While the writers already have some big ideas for the next chapter, Garner says one thing will be different this time around: Hollis won’t be quite so consumed by grief.
Garner also shared some fun behind-the-scenes stories from Season 1 of the eight-part show, including a day when she and co-star Gemma Chan stopped speaking to each other after filming an especially tense scene. She also recalls being told to stop crying during one of D’Arcy Carden’s performances because she was so moved by the comedian’s work. As it turns out, there were plenty of emotional moments happening on both sides of the camera.
