Description
Jackson Emmer has a way with words. Now, that might seem like an obvious thing to say about a singer-songwriter, but in Emmer’s hands a few well-selected lyrics convey volumes of complexity, a familiar turn of phrase takes on a new meaning, and a sly chorus becomes deeply embedded in your mind.
For this AG Session, Emmer played four original tunes on his Collings acoustic: “Rambleblood,” “When a Soul Travels On,” “Katie, Take Me Home,” and “I Don’t Want This (Job Interview Song).” The short set showcases Emmer’s mix of heart and humor and shines a light on his deft guitar work.
You can learn a lot about songwriting by dissecting the performances here, but if you’re interested in digging deeper into Emmer’s organic and unguarded approach to the craft, check out his Acoustic Guitar Teaching Artist videos. https://www.patreon.com/collection/1397424?view=expanded
[Ed note: Just as we started recording, a cacophonous chorus of car horns began outside our studio. Please excuse any honking you hear.]
