With Logan out covering the Tour de France and Mike nursing his wounds, I’m officially taking over the host chair for the first time. Lisa Charlebois and I are running the studio to break down the reality of the new Specialized Tarmac SL9, the shrinking footprint of Eurobike, and what to watch for at the Tour.
We dig straight into the SL9. It claims to be four watts faster, but with the exact same weight and nearly identical looks as the last generation, we have to ask: are we just getting iPhone-style micro-updates now? I also just got back from Frankfurt and give a recap of Eurobike. The show floor is definitely shrinking down to just a couple of halls, but Canyon still brought a wild 3D-printed concept bike loaded with integrated cameras and a radar system.
