We head out on the roads of Italy and into San Marino to ride six lightweight electric bikes, all powered by MAHLE's X20 or X30 rear hub motor systems.
From aero road bikes to all-road and gravel machines, we get a feel for how brands like Orbea, Ribble, Bianchi, 3T, Titici and Wilier approach electric assistance differently. With unique motor tuning, handling characteristics and ride experiences, there's more separating these bikes than you might expect.
Along the way, we tackle spectacular climbs, fast descents and some of the best scenery Italy has to offer.
