Following its Initial Public Offering (IPO), Runwal Enterprises Ltd. experienced a rapid sell-off, with its stock price dropping from an upper band issue price of ₹305 to an intraday low of ₹208 on Saturday, October 30, 2026, marking a 33% decline within a month of trading.
This caused enormous losses to the retail investors who had invested in the IPO, but later resorted to panic selling on poor financial reports of Q1 2027.
A crucial aspect of this incident is that the value of Runwal group promoters' shares has also plummeted 33% since listing on October 5. This directly impacts the ability of Subodh and Subhash Runwal's ability to raise loans by pledging their Runwal Enterprises shares as collateral.
As a cascading effect of this, we may see a slowdown of Runwal under-construction projects, or even failure to complete and hand over their projects.
Did Runwal Enterprises Ltd / Runwal Group / Runwal Realty / Runwal Developers Ltd knowingly suppress this crucial information until after the IPO, in order to manipulate the issue price? By fixing the IPO price at Rs 305/- rather than, say, Rs 200/- which appears to be the more realistic long-term price dictated by the group's fundamentals, did the Runwal family promoters actively exploit their investors?
