I WOULD HAVE BEEN HUNG FOR TRYING THIS IN THE PAST

Description

Can copper and steel actually become one solid piece of metal?

I've wanted to try this experiment for over 5 years, and in this video I finally put it to the test.

Using alternating layers of steel and copper sealed inside a canister, I heated, pressed and forge welded the billet to find out whether these two very different metals could be fused together. The result surprised me.

After cutting the billet open, we finally get to see what happened inside and whether the copper and steel really bonded into a single piece of metal.

This isn't a tutorial. It's a genuine experiment with a result I didn't know in advance.

Part 2 is already in the works, where I'll be testing whether the bond is actually strong enough to survive forging.

What do you think?
Did the copper and steel truly fuse together, or are they only mechanically locked in place?
