Description
"I Was There" - The Saturn V Launch Experience
Between 1967 and 1973 millions of people and 26 astronauts experienced an event like
no other before it, or perhaps since. The launch of a Saturn V.
Long after these events took place, those who were fortunate to have witnessed the
launches continued to tell the story of that moment. The astronauts too had unique
observations to recount. Some of those memories are recorded here.
The launch views are all taken from the cameras that were located on the Launch Umbilical
Tower or on the Mobile Launch Platform. The sounds are from various Saturn V launches
and radio,TV broadcasts and NASA Public Affairs.
