Apollo 1 - Launch & Entry Simulation - January 26th 1967
The following presentation contains audio recorded on January 26th 1967 as the Apollo 1 crew and Mission Control in Houston conducted launch/orbital/re-entry simulations for the then planned 14 day mission, scheduled for a launch in February 1967.
The audio was recorded on the Flight Director Loop in the MOCR and many familiar Apollo era flight controller voices can be heard, including Gene Kranz. The two Cap-Coms are Alan Bean and Jim Lovell. The audio contains the simulation plus the debrief with the astronauts and flight controllers.
The audio was recorded one day prior to the Apollo 1 fire that took the lives of astronauts Grissom, White and Chaffee.
The audio starts part way through the first simulation, when the spacecraft is in orbit approaching Australia
